Peterborough DBIA Event Support Grant — Fall Intake Still Open for Applications

The DBIA is excited to support events that bring vibrancy and economic prosperity to downtown Peterborough and our member businesses.

  • September 16, 2026 (For events hosted between October 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027)

About the Grant

The Peterborough DBIA provides financial and in-kind support to selected events that align with our core strategic priorities. The number and extent of grants awarded are determined by the availability of designated funds and the volume of qualifying applications.

The goal of the DBIA Event Support Grant is to empower event organizers to create and host experiences that encourage repeat visitation and year-round animation in downtown Peterborough by offsetting costs such as:

  • Advertising & marketing

  • Administrative fees

  • Supply costs

  • Permit and rental fees

The DBIA is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, sustainable, and nourishing cultural events hub in the urban core and aims to continue paving a path forward for organizers to choose downtown as their primary event destination.

DBIA Event Priorities

Successful applications will align with the following strategic goals:

  • Reaching priority audiences

  • Engaging DBIA member businesses (including restaurants, shops, and services)

  • Bringing economic prosperity to the region, specifically within the BIA district

  • Encouraging tourism, downtown exploration, and increased foot traffic

  • Building community connection to and within the downtown area

  • Celebrating the unique culture and identity of downtown Peterborough

Important Details & Guidelines

  • Funding Delivery: Successful applicants can expect to receive support funds within two weeks of their scheduled event date.

  • In-Kind Support: If your event requires in-kind support, please coordinate these requests with the DBIA at least two weeks prior to the event date.

  • Review Process: The DBIA Board will review all applications submitted by the September 16 deadline at the board meeting directly following.

  • Requirements: All applicants must provide a detailed budget outline for their event. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
